Current suggestions:
- Vermicomposting ourselves
- Partnering with LeCompostier to set up worm hotels on the KIT terrace for the entire building to use and following at least one workshop to learn more about composting indoors & best practices
Potential pitfalls:
- Worms could die

We can do vermicomposting using worms: https://www.epa.gov/recycle/how-create-and-maintain-indoor-worm-compost…
I made one in my house in Chicago. It was awesome!
But with vermicomposting the worms could die...mine died...
@Shyaam Maybe we can reach out to Le Compostier and see if they can support us in setting up worm hotels on the terrace for the entire building to use? I think they also provide workshops and lectures for companies wanting to start this kind of project + it could be a good opportunity for them to gain more visibility and for us to engage with the rest of KIT.
We should check if we have a steady enough waste production to see if we can maintain a worm colony.
We should check if there are already any communal worm hotels closeby.
There is a worm hotel not too far. I already checked :)
@Bart Is it the one on Sarphatistraat listed here? https://maps.amsterdam.nl/buurtcompost/
We'd also need to hang up educational posters, incase people start throwing the wrong things in the worm farms. Then worm life is prolonged.
could we use the compost to also create a rooftop garden, growing our own herbs!
Bart van de laar did you see this idea already? its interesting? Weren't you looking for a pet?
