Digitise our workshop materials

We print a lot of materials and worksheets for workshops that we conduct. A lot of these materials are used only once and then thrown away after the key insights are captured digitally. It would be great if we can digitise our workshop materials from the beginning and ask workshop participants to bring their laptops or mobile devices and participate digitally. This also saves a lot of work in capturing the discussions and post-its after the workshop, since it is done during the session itself.

  • Do keep in mind the energy consumption and CO2 emissions of constantly-running servers (we could look into green ICT options). Also, it's nice to get people off their screens and getting their hands dirty together - though possibly some workshops would lend themselves better to the digitization process.

  • What about making the workshop materials reusable (e.g. using magnetic post-it notes and whiteboards instead of regular post-its and paper?) I agree with Nic that it's nice to get people off their screens and sometimes pen & paper is just faster!

  • Bit more tricky, but maybe use something like a SMART board or image capture techniques to scan and transfer content from reusable workshop materials to a digital format
