Adapt the "design thinking" cards to create circular design cards

Several companies have created design thinking cards. These are like playing cards that people can use to apply the principles of design thinking to their work.

"Design Thinking is an iterative process in which we seek to understand the user, challenge assumptions, and redefine problems in an attempt to identify alternative strategies and solutions that might not be instantly apparent with our initial level of understanding."…

Why not create circular design cards for fashion students?

What could they be?

A card for a certain type of fashion item e.g. jeans, bag with some questions that the student must consider if they want to create a pair of jeans that incorporate circular design?

A card for a material e.g. denim with some questions that the student must consider if they want to incorporate circular design when using denim?

Before starting a new design, the fashion student must chose a "fashion item" card and a "material item" card.

  • That is very interesting idea. I'm planning to try something similar with my students, but rather than a card for a fashion item and another for a material, I was thinking of including 3 categories: Materials, Processes and Outcomes (this last one being the fashion item).
And questions can be created in the beginning, with the students. As circularity implies a holistic approach, we need to think "What do I need to ask myself regarding each of these dimensions?"
