Turkish social entrepreneurs Whole Surplus (Fazla Gıda) waste management platform allows food businesses (restaurants, hotels, supermarkets) to manage surplus occurring in any level of the supply chain. They prioritize their solutions accordingly to Food Recovery Hierarchy. If the surplus is safe-to-eat, it is donated to people in need. If not edible, it is given to animals or used in animal food production. If nutritive values are not suitable for animal consumption than surplus is used in composting, biogas and biodiesel energy production.
