This idea was based around the creation of a digital platform that serviced as a marketplace between consumers and sustainable clothing brands. Brands would offer their clothes through a lease model whereby consumers could gain access to a range of sustainably made clothing options at an affordable price. The premium service also offers a sustainable laundry service and tailored fashion advice.

Key users:

Core target audience is young professionals, just starting out in the world of work - who need to get sustainable professional clothing, and who are on a limited budget. 

Key partners and systems needed:

A digital platform that connects sustainable clothing manufacturers/brands with logistics services and ultimately customers 

The impact:

Support the creation of PaaS for clothing to enable a high reuse rate of clothing. A subscription model will over a robust source of revenue. Though a sharing platform for clothing, products are incentivised to create products that last as long as possible, thus reducing total environmental footprint of each article.

The first phase of this challenge looked at key opportunity areas, barriers to overcome, inspirational case studies, existing research, facts and figures, and other insights around the challenge. The Circle Economy team identified and clustered all submissions into key areas of opportunity that served to inspire and support the development of new solutions at the Beyond Next circularity festival. This is one of the solutions that came out of the event.
